Portland Greendrinks is part of the international Greendrinks network — an informal, volunteer-managed social networking group built around a common interest in the natural environment. It occurs on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 5:30 pm. The goal of Greendrinks is pretty simple: good times shared among people working in, or interested in, environmental and sustainability issues. Portland Greendrinks is a project of the Maine-based non-profit, The Triceratops Group, founded by Elliott May in January 2010.

Sea Weed Fabric Marbling is an ancient printmaking technique that involves floating paint on top of water in order to create beautiful designs. Using various implements, such as forks, chopsticks, toothpicks or corn holders, you will create your designs in the floating paint. When your design is ready, it will be printed on fabric. As you master the elements of this process, you’ll want to do more and more. Materials are included and participants will go home with two framed prints.
Cost: $30, including all supplies. (Minimum: 5 students)
When: Thursday November 8th, 7pm-9pm.

We are releasing our NRB Warrior Wheat* Thursday, November 1. We will be having a kick off event and $1 from each pint of Warrior Wheat sold from 6-8pm will go to the Travis Mills Foundation right here in Maine. Proceeds from Warrior Wheat through the whole month of November will be going to the foundation as well. A representative from the Travis Mills Foundation will be here to answer any questions you have.
“For many, many years I as a homebrewer with my brewing partner Steve Lilley. We brewed for a long time in the garage. He had a brother-in-law who was killed in the line of duty, Capt. Chris Sullivan. Steve worked up a recipe and I knew when we had this place up and running, I wanted to use it to be able to make a donation and honor veterans in the month of November.” - Michael Schuler (Co-Owner & Brewer)
Sullivan, a native of Princeton, MA joined the military in 1998 while in college at Worcester Polytechnic University and after peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Germany, was deployed to Iraq as a part of Iraqi Freedom in January 2004. A year later, on January 18, 2005, while on patrol in Baghdad , Sullivan, 29 at the time, was killed by an improvised explosive device. It was two weeks before he was scheduled to return home.
We donate to the Travis Mills Foundation as a recommendation from Chris Sullivan’s parents, James and Dorothy Sullivan.
*Warrior Wheat (5.1 ABV Pint pours)
This is our take on a traditional Dunkelweizen, a German dark wheat beer with deliciously complex malt and bittered with Warrior hops to balance it out. The beer is bready like toast and murky from the wheat ale yeast. This beer goes well with a toast to our service members that keep us free to enjoy such a bountiful life. A portion of the proceeds from each pint will go to the Travis Mills Foundation right here in Maine.
Join Chimera Theatre Collective for Scripts on Tap, a new collaboration with Nonesuch River Brewing where we'll present workshop readings of new plays right in Nonesuch River Brewing's Mezzanine! For our first reading, we'll be presenting Making Frankenstein by Natalie Osborne.
During a three-day rainy streak while on vacation at Villa Diodati in Switzerland in 1816, Lord Byron challenged Mary Shelley, her husband Percy, and her sister-in-law Claire Clairmont to write their spookiest tales. Plagued by nightmares of frogs legs, past tragedies, and the characters of her own creation, Mary's inspiration takes hold as she furiously writes her haunted tale, one that would become one of the greatest horror stories ever told: Frankenstein.
Tickets are pay what you want ($10 suggested donation)
6:15 PM: Get to NRB early before the show to order food & drinks
7:00 PM: Show starts!
8:00 PM: Feedback on Script
